The following sculptures were made to test out the X3D tool chain I built back in March of 2008. I ran into a number of limitations in Octaga and other 3d browser plugin towards the end of the month and ended up deciding that the size limitations on the 3d worlds containing the sculptures were more than I wanted to work with. Fortunately, the average computer is getting faster and faster -- so things still look bright for the future of 3d via the collada format. Unfortunately, the technology hasn't been standardized yet and I can't take the risk on any specific file format until the de-facto standard has been set, which should be happening sometime in 2010.
